Commerce 365 for EasyPost ships with an integrated Advanced Cloud Printing feature. This feature enables users to configure local printers and use them in any Business Central environment.
To use this feature, please make sure you have an account at our cloud printing partner, PrintNode. They offer free accounts for up to 50 prints per month. If you need more prints, they offer low price plans to suit all business.
Using the Advanced Cloud Printing feature is optional. If you wish, you can also download the labels from Business Central as PDF files and print them manually.
To configure your cloud printers, first go to your role center and click on EasyPost > Administration > Setup and enable the Advanced Cloud Printing setting under the Labels section. Then enter your PrintNode API Key and select a default printer.
ZPL Zebra Programming Language
When working with Zebra label printers we strongly advise to work with the ZPL label format. The PDFs that are produced by FedEx and some of the other common carriers, are sometimes small size labels that are embed in a larger PDF. This works fine for desktop printers, but is less suitable for label printers.
Printing sales shipment documents / shipment notes
Commerce 365 for EasyPost can automatically print shipment notes when printing the shipping labels. It uses the same PrintNode cloud printing functionality, and can be configured via the general setup card. Simply enable Print Sales Shipment Document to make it print the default shipment note. And if you want to override the report and layout that is being used, you can use the Sales Shipment Report ID + Report Layout Code fields.
Shipment notes are always printed on the desktop printer you select on the setup card (Default Printer Name) or in the printer routing area.
Routing
After connecting your printers, go to your role center and click on EasyPost > Administration > Printer Routing. On this page you can create routing rules per location and Business Central user.
Example
Print all labels for user 'TOM' and Location Code 'EAST' on printer 'ZDesigner ZD220-203dpi', and use the 'HP LaserJet Pro MFP' for documents.
Print labels and documents for all other users and locations on the printers as set under in the 'Default Printer' in the EasyPost Setup.
